Arthrography

Arthrography is a fluoroscopic procedure that uses x-ray technology to examine the structure and function of the joint.

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed tomography (CT), or CAT scan, captures x-ray pictures of the body from different angles. Specialized computers combine this series of pictures, called “slices,” to create detailed, three-dimensional images of the organs and tissues.

Myelography

Myelography is an x-ray examination of the spinal cord and spinal column. The exam is sometimes performed when an MRI cannot be performed or has provided incomplete information.

Paracentesis

Paracentesis is a procedure that utilizes x-rays or ultrasound and a needle to remove excess fluid from the abdomen.

PICC Line

A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) provides central venous access for patients needing long term antiobiotic therapy, chemotherapy, total parenteral nutrition, or venous access for medical treatment. The catheter is inserted in a peripheral vein in the upper arm and terminates centrally in the body.

Thoracentesis

Thoracentesis is a procedure in which a needle is used to remove excess fluid from the area between the lungs and chest wall (pleural space). This procedure can provide diagnostic information for medical treatment as well as therapeutic treatment for the patient.

Thyroid FNA

A thyroid fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is a procedure in which a radiologist uses ultrasound-guided imaging to insert a small needle into the thyroid for aspiration of cells to obtain a diagnosis.

US Guided Breast Biopsy

An ultrasound guided breast biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes ultrasound and a needle to sample an abnormality in the breast to obtain a diagnosis.
